An 8-inch water main break on Golf Road just south of Ridgewood Road has resulted in a temporary loss of water service to many Riverside residents west of First Avenue, but officials say they hope to restore water service soon.
Riverside Public Works Director Edward Bailey said the break was reported early afternoon on July 12. Crews have identified the location of the break, have excavated the area and are working to clamp the leak.
"Water service should be restored, hopefully, shortly thereafter," Bailey said.
No Brookfield residences west of Golf Road are affected, Bailey said. Golf Road south of Ridgewood is closed to traffic due to the repair work.
