If you were looking forward to seeing Riverside from the basket of a hot-air balloon or were just going to head over to Big Ball Park to take in the spectacle on Saturday evening, you're going to have to change your plans.
According to Alex Gallegos, a member of the Riverside Township Lions Club sponsoring the event, liftoff has been postponed for a week due to a weather forecast calling for unfavorable wind conditions. The event has been rescheduled for Saturday, July 27 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
While the event is sold out, anyone hoping to catch a ride in the balloon, which will be tethered to a vehicle in Big Ball Park, may be able to purchase tickets from someone who can no longer attend because of the date change. Gallegos said he will try to facilitate any ticket transfers -- there is a small waiting list -- by emailing him at email@example.com.
